Lowes carpet installation canada

By Monday, September 30, there were 14 cracks in my kitchen floor. This is after the allotted time they were supposed to be at my house. Again it goes back to respect. My husband and I both work. We have had to move our schedules around so there would be someone at our home. They can't even call us when they find out they won't be coming in a timely manner. At this point, my entire kitchen floor will have to be replaced.

I stood next to the salesperson while he played around on the computer terminal without any other customers in the department. Finally, after mumbling something under my breath, which he apparently heard, he asked if he could help me.

I ended up ordering and paying for ceramic tile. The installer came to my home to measure and immediately told me he couldn't lay the tile because the floor was uneven. Where does Lowe's find these people who obviously do not want to work? And why wasn't I told this before buying the tile? I'm going back to the store to get a refund and, hopefully, will not get the runaround with that!

Lowe's needs to be shut down. One bad review after the other. The tile salesman understood that I was installing the backerboard and that it would go over vinyl. Subfloor is wood so the anchors will hold well.

My wife picked up the order and did not catch the mistake. I went back to Lowe's and spoke to the original salesman and he indicated he knew I was installing the backerboard over the vinyl and should not have been charged for that. He said he would correct the order and email me the new receipt never received it. Before installation day, my wife went back and verified they were not doing the backerboard and would not charge us for that.

When they came to install, the installers refused to install the tile because the backerboard was placed over the vinyl. They wanted to quote additional cost for tearing out the backerboard, vinyl and re-installing.

Showed the photos, talked about the install and showed the samples vs what was installed. Sent them an email and here it is they want our samples before deciding what to do?? The carpet is defective.

The backing came through the fibers leaving a knot the size of a quarter. The carpet install was not done correctly. We have done all the leg work on our end. All we ask now is for the money credited so that we can get the carpet replaced with the carpet we paid for or an upgrade if needed. This fight will continue until a resolve. I cannot tell you how fed up and disgusted I am with this Big Box nightmare. They are revolting and I would give them negative stars if I had the option.

My basement flooded almost 4 weeks ago. Right away we got the water removed and the carpet pulled up. Just finished the basement last year so the carpet isn't a year old. The carpet was salvageable but some pad was not. I was told their install people would contact me to arrange the inspector to come out before anything was replaced.

I waited nearly a week to hear from them. Finally I took it upon myself to call. The guy lied and said he had been trying to call me. I offered to screen shot my recent call log and send it to him. There were no calls from him. We lined up the "inspector" to come out and basically see what needed to be done. I already had had our adjuster out and could tell him what was going to happen, but NO, the inspector had to come out. And he had to come out on a day I was working so I rearranged my schedule to meet him at 4pm.

I called. No response. The window I had been given was between , I think. I told them I wouldn't be available until after 4 and they made the note in my record and said the guy would be at my house around 4. NO show, NO phone call. I was flabbergasted. I called the next day and blasted the guy. He lied and said he had called. We reschedule "inspector". The guy was again supposed to come at I hang up.

Well, or so he rolls up. He did exactly what I expected Make no mistake, Home Depot has called and gotten it's money for the new pad.

They seemed to be able to get through to me for that. But yet again, I had to call and call and call to get the actual service appointment set up. By this time I know that they are not going to call me. They said they have been trying to get through and this is a lie.

Everyone else seems to get through just fine on this phone, but for some reason this Install outfit can't figure out how to make an outgoing call. I setup the install for the pad. I literally laughed out loud at the woman. Of course they will!!!! I cannot tell you how much I regret this purchase. I have now dealt with my local home depot who loves taking my credit card number, the inspector who submitted the "report" and these incompetents at their outsourced install company. Go local. All went well until, we were told that although they disassembled our beds and moved them they would not put them back together.

Wou Would have taken me literally 15 minutes to clear. UltUltimately they refused to install and left. Buy your carpet from someone local! Learning how to install carpet can seem like a challenge. With planning, careful measurements and the right specialized tools, DIY carpeting installation is possible. Installing carpet yourself can save you money as you upgrade your flooring. This estimate includes the cost of the carpet, padding, installation, and carpet removal. I had Home Depot install my screen door and front door years ago.

The front door closed only if it was locked and the screen door lock when you are inside won't unlock unless you fought with it for a few minutes. Indem Sie weiterhin auf der Website surfen bzw. Design Dilemma. Carpeting by Lowes or Home Depot? Anyone ever use them? Jeannie B 6 years ago. I need to carpet a family room. Estimated to be about sq ft. It's completely empty and I wouldn't need to rip up carpet or move furniture. Has anyone had success with either of them? I need something of some sort of quality but don't want to break the bank.

I checked out some carpet stores but they seemed very over priced and couldn't get the carpet for 3 weeks! I need it ASAP! Any advice greatly appreciated! Email Save Comment Featured Answer. Yes, I'm facing the same dilemma now. The kitchen in my newest project was originally an enclosed porch so it has three windows on the south wall with only a single stretch of 36" of wall space between two windows and then 24" to the side corner. Plus, of course, I'm on an extremely tight budget. The previous owner had freestanding IKEA cabinets against the windows but it was awkward since the windows couldn't be opened without great effort.

Our original thought was to remove the windows, reside the exterior and put in a nice designed kitchen. But, in the interests of time and budget, we're considering making a diner style kitchen with only shallow open shelves under the low windows and across the 36" wide wall space.

Then, we'll put the fridge and pantry cupboard across the access opening on the opposite short wall. The downside of that arrangement is it becomes an awkward kitchen for a second cook doing prep work since that person couldn't access the sink easily. We'll have about 42 inches of clearance between the cooktop and the open shelving so easy for a single cook but tight for two. However, that is a small sq ft house, not a family house. I am considering this co Q.

A few weeks ago the wife dribbled olive oil off a plate over about 10 linear feet of our flooring Old World Fossil Stone or something like that I dunno But a couple of days later a neighbor told me about Floor Dry diatomaceous earth He had some, we crushed it up into powder, sprinkled well A couple days later I uncovered, stirred it up a bit and covered for a couple more days. I repeated that process a couple more times and, miraculously, no more olive oil stains.

Totally blown away Home Depot contracts out to individual installers dependent on town, and local HD Manager. I would guess that they were contracted out by the local Home Depot to install the laminate. When it comes to installation errors, it is ultimately the problem of the people who did the work or their employees.

Start with the Home Depot where you purchased the service and start complaining. Keep doing that until you get someone out to your house. How much does it cost to install or replace carpet? How much will your new carpet cost? View Pros. Table of contents [hide] [show].
