I was rather disapointed with L4D2, i sank a lot of time into the first one and loved it, second one just felt stale rather quickly, shoulda released it around xmas 10 and not xmas L4D being the ultimate PC co-op game. I have to agree, Gears is the best co-op game I've played. Can't wait for the 4-player co-op in Gears 3. Fable 3 should also be on that list. Say what you want about the game, the co-op is excellent. Good list, but my one of my all time favorite co-op games was Splosion Man.

I think there is another one but I'm not sure. Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory has harder split screen stealth than conviction, but it's still fun. Age Of Booty is a very fun pirates RTS Xbox Marketplace game with online multiplayer for 8 players and 4 player splitscreen multiplayer. I would pay big money to have state of decay a two player. I have played lots of co-op games with friends both locally and via Xbox live. Without further ado the list…. This may come as a surprise to most, but The Outfit gave me one of the most enjoyable experiences playing co-op ever. It was released back in and went fairly under the radar. Definitely worth a cheap pick-up if you want a different co-op game.
Gears of War set the bar for third person shooters when it bought of the first of the series. Since then it has been slightly downhill, the later games lack innovation and the story of the first game was the best. They are very pretty games though and great fun to play with a buddy. If at any point you want an amazing casual game, look no further than a Lego game.
