The playfully whiny backing vocals of Taura Stinson nearly derail the drama of lonesome "Good Man", as her attitude filled vocals seem at odds with the rest of the album. Regardless, Saadiq's downtrodden vocals, questioning his woman's betrayal, and the simmering music is reminiscent of Isaac Hayes' version of "Walk On By".
